My first BMX in almost 20yrs

What’s up y’all. 1 month of ownership in the books! Decided at the ripe age of 29 that I wanted back into BMX. Mid 2004, I suffered a pretty serious concussion trying to show off on a gnarly dirt mound in the field behind our neighborhood. Eventually that meant 2 or 3 years of no action sports until I got into skateboarding and the rest was history. Do y’all remember those boat anchor X-Games bikes with the yellow paint jobs? That’s the nearly 40lb foe that took me out of the game 🤣

My car project isn’t going as smoothly as I had hoped, so after sifting through the demoralizing selection of normie bikes, I thought “why not look at BMX bikes” as a joke. Well shit got serious, because this is where I ended up hahaha. Like I said earlier, it’s been a month and I’ve enjoyed every second of figuring out BMX again.

So far this new bike’s been really solid but the machined spacers for my BB were installed on the wrong sides, and there wasn’t Loctite on the crank bolts, so I had a chewed up left crank after about 2 weeks when it started to back off the spindle, aaaaannnnd a crank slapping my frame. New crank kit is on the bike and she rides good as new! (Pics with reflectors are from delivery day 😅) needless to say, the nostalgia rush has been incredible and I’m stoked there’s a massive community to lean on. I feel the same way I did back then, when me and the boys were making ramps out of plywood and cinderblocks. Cheers to everyone keeping BMX alive so I had a mostly painless process getting back on the saddle with y’all 🙌
