Go slower, and focus on technique rather than speed. There’s looks of great how to’s on YouTube.
Including mine 😉 YouTube channel is on my Reddit account. On YouTube it’s called “ BmxTv”
Cheers, and best of luck.
It’s the most essential trick in bmx
Keep on practicing! I like to use the lips of curbs to help with a little pop. Try a soda bottle on its side and use that to jump over. Soon enough you will be doing it with style.

Your pulling up on the handle bars to soon can’t pull the bike up when your pushing it down with your legs at the same time
Literally act like your going to jump into the air off your bike then use the handlebars to pull it up with you
Jump up, pull up, and push forward

Go slower and focus on technique. Think about it as two steps. Pull up on the bars and preload your legs and then jump off your rear tire and pull your bike up

You are leaning too far forward. Lean back, pull up until the bike is almost vertical, and then jump.
