Energy Secretary Ed Miliband is facing backlash for allowing increased Chinese involvement in UK infrastructure. Critics point to Jingye, the Chinese company that owns British Steel’s Scunthorpe plant, cancelling key orders to keep the UK’s last blast furnaces running.

Labour’s net zero policies are blamed for high energy costs, with critics arguing Miliband’s decisions have left Britain vulnerable. Workers at Scunthorpe have raised concerns over the plant’s future, while the Government’s veto of a domestic coking coal mine has led to costly imports.

Additionally, Labour backed Tata Steel’s closure of Port Talbot’s blast furnaces, threatening 2,800 jobs. The growing foreign ownership of UK industries is sparking calls for more control.

Jeremy Kyle talks in depth with former Tory leader, Sir Iain Duncan Smith.

  1. A conservative against net zero now that they are in opposition when they were pro net zero when in power. Trust no one in the uniparty state they are all the same and are out of step with the electorate

  2. Let's be honest most people in the UK don't give a toss what it's like to live in the Sudan were not going to go there ever.
And it's up to them to improve their own country not us.

  3. net zero is a total scam, you know that someone is getting very rich from it, why arent people more angry, so much apathy, we have the highest bills in the world! We are being ripped off!!

  7. Reform UK are the most patriotic party and people are not voting for Reform UK as a protest vote speaking for Myself and i believe many other people feel the same Reform UK is not a protest vote its a vote to return uk yo some kind of normal because under labour and conservative parties we yhe people of uk have been ignored for far too long

  8. I was a proud Margaret Thatcher voter and member. After she was unceremoniously shown the door. The Conservative party has been down hill ever since. The quality of politicians in Great Britain is horrible. All should have work and business experience.

  9. Net zero can never be afforded by a country in a post pandemic , and current cost of living crisis situation , if wanted (something i doubt) can only be afforded by several generations.

  10. Net Zero is not and never will be achievable in the UK, whether we create everything or import everything. The fact that we need food and our luxury goods means that we or the countries we import from will create Co2. Why is our government so driven to it? Stop and Think, for Christ's sake, if by some magic fluke, the UK did become Net Zero, the fact that the UK is net zero would make no difference to the global output of Co2, and the UK as a country would be totally bankrupt.
