I have no idea what this frame is. Built in japan. Only lugged on seat tube. Has old bmx style brake on chainstay. Decal residue on downtube looks like it says albino or something. Headtube decal residue looks maybe like the raleigh logo? I can't find a similar frame online. Post it if you know or find one. Thanks in advance for any answers!

The Mid-80s Diamondback Apex had a single lug on the seat tube, CroMo Tange tubes and the brakes on the chainstay like your frame. But all the reference images I can find have slightly different lug shapes than what yours has. Closest I can find, though.
It’s M730-era XT stuff (aside from what looks to be a 90s Alivio RD) with a chainstay U-brake, so like ’86-88, more than likely.
Raleigh came to mind immediately when I saw the residue outline of the departed head tube decal, but having looked at the various contemporaneous versions (there was a UK, American, *and* Canadian Raleigh during this era), it doesn’t seem to match up.
Have you found a serial number? The Japanese-made stuff seems to be easier to decode than most, as many of the big manufacturers over there were using a standardized numeral/letter sequence. The first one is usually a letter (N= National [Panasonic], M=Miyata, K=Kuwahara, etc.) followed by a number (3=83, or 1983, for example).
My Jamis Dakota has chain stay brake. Found out it is an 87. Mechanic told me year of mfg is on rear derailer. But it has another brazon on top tube and seat tube for a shoulder strap for carrying. In the corner where they meat about 8 inches out. The frame geometry looks very close
I had a 1989 Fuji Sundance that was lugged only at the seat tube like that. Some of the late 80s catalogs show some of the higher end models running Shimano stuff. Could be a Fuji.
This is my submission; found while cruising google. Seat tube lug looks like a match.

Have you considered doing a graphite/pencil rubbing of the down tube and top tube to see if you can read the old decals better?
