It’ll only be this clean once! Moving from 11-34 -> 12-23, 8 speed. Mostly flat with a few small hills on the commute. The smaller step between gears should hopefully be welcome on the flats.

11-50 with a 36t chain ring works for me
None for the bike that goes most often.
8 speed, I believe 11-42 with a 46t ring on the one with gears.

48t/19t one speed is the jack of all trades for me
41×17 on my single speed school bike.
Compact double or triple with 1/1 ratio on the smallest on my front gears.
11-32 or 11-34 rear (because I run 8 speed).
11-40 rear as the single gearing would also be accessible.
40t chain ring, 11-46 9speed cassette
I don’t need a super low great most days, but pulling a kiddo-trailer up the hills requires less than 1-1 ratio..
