Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Pinterest Bluesky Threads Hello, i gave my bike new tires and now the rim isnt seated properly as you see in the picture. Is it bad and will give me a wobble or does it center itself? Obviously I tried to center it by myself but it wont work.. Thx by brudertim Bicycling Bike Bike Repair Biking Cycling Repair
Ass_Over_Teakettle on April 14, 2025 3:20 pm It won’t fix itself. Soap up the bead and re-inflate to see if it will seat. Stubborn beads need some lubrication seat properly.
Pasta_expert on April 14, 2025 3:20 pm Deflate a bit and then overinflate slightly. It should pop into place. Then just pump it to your desired pressure and roll.

spadehed on April 14, 2025 3:38 pm You can often get it to seat properly by rotating the tyre on the rim away from where it needs to seat – you should be able to get it to pop into place, if it doesn’t work drop the pressure slightly and try again. Usually works for me.
