Looks like you’re late shifting your weight up. Are you at Dryer Rd? Looks familiar

You’ve got to pop a little bit before the lip. Looks like you’re trying it after you’re already in the air. Seems more timing than technique.

Your legs collapsed at the lip, and you didn’t go up with the bike. The bike went up into you.

  4. You are first moving your weight back before the lip, don’t do that. Press into it and have your weight slightly shifted forward and dont do any jerky movements. Stand up to the jump.

  5. This is advice I’ve shared with a lot of people with great success. It’s a drill. Roll into the jump with much less speed, and concentrate on generating momentum by pushing through the feet, and pulling through the arms. Concentrate on that feeling of generating speed by pumping. Do it as a drill, especially when warming up. Rolling in much slower will make it safe, and will force you to concentrate on that movement.

Hopefully, there are smaller jumps nearby. Better yet, rollers, where you can concentrate on that motion of rowing, pushing through the feet, and pulling through the arms. Generate speed.

Stand up right before the front tire leaves the ground. It takes some practice to get the timing right.

  7. You go where you toes point. Drop those heals down until your rear wheel comes off the lip. Also push into the lip with your arms like you are doing a bunny hop.

After you bend your knees preparing for the lip, straighten them the same way you would jump on the ground. Bend your knees and then explode up by straightening your legs as you go off the lip with your back wheel

Check out Loam Rangers video about standing up to the jump. Catchy tune and finally made jumps click for me.

You didn’t press with your feet on the take off and if you did it was too late.

First, need the seat all the way down or it’s gonna cause a massive crash one day. Second, you need to push through the lip and then pull up. Lots of things go into jumping correctly. Start with getting your bunny hop dialed. You basically push hard through the lip with your feet and hands once your front wheel is off the lip start pulling the bars toward your hips (this is what gives you pop and height on the jump – it’s the back wheel acting like a lever)

Also don’t use your arms for pumping. It can easily throw you off balance. Hands are high and weak. Legs are low, strong and centered. Use the legs.

  13. I like to think about it like a trampoline. Jump early and the legs buckle, jump late and you absorb the bounce (maybe I have that backwards), but you gotta find that sweet spot. And seriously, jump! Don’t fly off the lip, jump off the lip.

Try smaller jumps(like the baby jumps) and try to jump as big and high as you can. Land flat. Really learn the feel of jumping the bike instead of riding the bike off of a jump

Ima say pump the takeoff and lower that seat way down first, makes it so much easier to shift your weight front to back with the seat down.

  15. I think you’re pumping too early and so your weight is moving back early and your arms are extended too early.

  16. You need to get lower when you preload and get more pressure through the front of the bike

Got a few tips I’m going to try out next time, thanks for the help people!
