Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Pinterest Bluesky Threads I need to replace my Canyon Grail CF SL 7 crank set (size M). I'm not sure if I should pick the 172.5 mm 38 or 172.5 40? any clue? Thanks so much! by lhb91 Bicycling Bike Bike Repair Biking Cycling Repair
Baiken_Shishido on April 13, 2025 5:18 pm Just check your old crank. I use the 40T for mostly flat courses with a 11-34 cassette. For more steep climbs I go for 38T and a 11-46 cassette.
DaveQPublic on April 13, 2025 5:45 pm Why not just put a 1x cog on your existing GRX 610 crankset? Do you still have the stock 11-34 cassette on the rear end? Because even 40:11 is a rather low top end unless it’s a dedicated off-road bike.
