I am not sure what the function of this little sliding part with a screw hole is. The shoes came with two small screws which fit there.

Look cleats have a memory clip that attaches to this screw boss. Lets you install a new cleat without losing the position. Most shoes don’t have this feature since you can just trace the outside of a cleat with a pencil.

This is for a Look memory eyelet: [https://thesweetcyclists.com/what-is-the-fourth-hole-in-your-road-cycling-shoes-for/](https://thesweetcyclists.com/what-is-the-fourth-hole-in-your-road-cycling-shoes-for/) – basically a small plastic piece that can stay on the shoe when changing the cleat, so you don’t loose the last position.
My Shimano Dura Ace PD-7700 clits are two longitudinals holes like this.
While there aren’t, i have to drill ones.
Absolutely love the wording of the title here.
