Yeah that’s aluminum and it has reached the end of its life. Does the manufacturer offer a replacement? Warranty?

Looking at all the dirt, it had a good life..

You just got a nice piece to hang on the wall and tell some stories and on top you’ll have a new bike soon. I only see advantages.

Your drop out dropped dead.

It’s fine so long as you have a good dental/medical package.

It’s repairable, but maybe not worth it.

Congrats! You can run a belt drive for lower maintenance now that your chainstay is open!

Time to invest in a nice steel frame!

That is a deceased bicycle frame. If it is the original owner, a warranty would apply in this situation.

Today is a good day for a new bike!
Sorry this happened though…

You know that shiny new bike you have been lusting after for a while?
You just got the perfect excuse to buy it.

The bigger news is that you’re a Jedi – no one else would be able to take a photo and upload it to Reddit without looking. Also, bad luck on your bike. I hope the replacement isn’t too expensive!

You can get some great deals on quill stem steel frames if you keep your wheels and group set.
