The first of four cycle routes.
The theme of the ride is aviation history, plane crashes, airfields, memorials, museums and other points of interest.
The idea is to give you a taste of riding in Norfolk while trying to add some interest to a simple bike ride.
All routes are about 100-120 km long.
They start at the Rail Station in the City of Norwich where there is loads of parking in the vicinity. Norwich is at the end of the Main line to London from Liverpool Street.
Please email me for a copy a pdf copy of the Route Map and a GPX file download, if you want!
Enjoy!

Good to get home and see another great presentation. Really enjoyed this one, thank you 😊
Good to see you back Andrew! Noticeable that the majority of the plaques/locations are memorials. Very sad indeed and RIP all. A fantastic effort on the journey time through a beautiful part of England🫡
Really great video as always and enjoyed the history of the airfields and airmen. Thanks for sharing 🙏
Great film, Andrew. This whole area is rich in aviation history, although often tragic and poignant. Thanks, looking forward to the rest of the series.
I enjoyed that. I know the area a bit and have cycled many of the roads including the A1064 a few times. In the late 70s on that road, riding a motorcycle, at night, in very thick mist, I popped out above the mist at the top of that bridge and for a second I could see for miles and saw the glow of headlights of cars in the mist. My parents lived in the area for some of WW2, my father serving in the Fleet Air Arm during the final years of the war (TAG in Swordfish & Barracudas)
Really interesting, thank you, I wonder if a similar idea could be done by water/canoes…….may need a bit of walking too?
“How can you tell if they are a pilot;they’ll tell you”.😂Great video Andrew.👍🏻
