Hello all

I am buying my first gravel ride, and i am not that versed in all the components on that track – so help me please 🙂

Right now in Denmark the price is the same.

I am looking for an all around ride with good road capabilities as I will most likely be going on 70/30 tarmac/gravel. I have a commuter bike, so this is for dedicated sessions and possibly also camping trips.

I have been riding road, fixed and hard tail earlier – if that makes any difference. Quite lean and 188cm (6.16)

  1. I would go with the Canyon. I think its a better looking bike and I had so many problems with my seatpost clamp on my revolt. The D shape post sucked and slipped gradually no matter what.

  2. Go for the Grizl. For the sole reason that Canyon is a more premium brand that many Giant owners aspire to own, if not another premium brand. Unless of course you have an aversion to boutique brands, then the Revolt it is.

    Revolt pro: fits up to 53 mm tires (29 x 2.1”) vs 50 (29 x1.5”)

Grizl pro: that sweet shock absorbing seatpost

  3. Funny. I just ordered the Revolt 0 in size L from Design Cykler.

My reasons are probably different than yours. Although we are the same height (187 cm) I am quite heavy (120 kg). I’m really heavy built (not just fat 😛 but also deep/wide torso and massive thighs). Having done lots of research, I feel more confident that the Giant will handle my weight. At least according to their specifications.

Also, I have a Giant TCR road bike too, and I’ve been very happy with it.

Depending on your location, I would also give Pronghorn a look. They have showrooms in Allerød and Horsens, and they offier AI Bikefit as part of the bargain.

    Good luck deciding!

  4. I think both are nice bikes. My son has a Grizl. I have a Revolt. I would buy(and did) the Revolt for the LBS support.
