Distance: 70km’s
NOTE: Except for distance data, the usual detailed route data for most days of this ride is not avaialbe…due to “user” error… 🙄
The constant sounds of heavy commercial traffic on the highway we were camped next to wasn’t quite as bad as I had anticipated…due largely to the industrial-grade ear plugs I was using.
After ensuring my hidden, charging batteries were secure and charged, we had breakfast at the ONroute before heading out at around a rather late 10am.
The ride continued north, away from the busy highway, along lonely, paved concession roads and under an overcast sky.
It wasn’t long before the route took us off the road and onto more quiet and beautiful leaf-strewn trails…and so it was for the much of the day…changing between gravel and paved trails, with brief stints along roads as we followed the Grand river through Cambridge, Kitchener and Waterloo on our way to St Jacobs. Unfortunately, I lost audio after leaving the Ellis Chappel, so much of this video is accompanied with music…until later in the day when I discovered and corrected the issue.
The approach to St Jacobs was lovely, as the sun finally came out as we were riding along the seemingly endless trails along the Grand River.
We found a nice wild camp along the Grand River, very close to the town centre.
