Dramatic video shows the moment residents screamed for help as a raging fire tore through flats in east London.

Firefighters rescued seven people as the blaze, believed to have been sparked by an e-bike, engulfed the residential building on Cornwall Avenue, Bethnal Green, late on Wednesday night.

  1. In the UK, from 2022 to 2023, there were 329 battery fires associated with e-bikes and e-scooters, and 239 fires linked to electric vehicles (EVs) and in 2024 to2025 is 1,230 And growing every year.

  2. I think companies who sale ebike should come with a legislation .when sale ebike to customers risk assestment should be in place ,and should remind people of certaing danger ,you have to think something for this issue ,it cant be keep happening over and over again.
