Hello I’m planning on going on an 8 day, 700 km-800 km bike packing trip (also my first one). I currently have a road bike with 23mm tires which is obviously not ideal and was wondering if a) I should go for 28mm tires (I’ve heard it’d be tight but doable) and b) what tires to get if I value durability and maybe price higher than speed.
I’ve attached a screenshot of the way type and surface breakdown of my tentative route on Komoot.

You should attach a screenshot of your current setup where we can see the tightest point between tire and frame/brake. Make sure to check seatstays and chainstays. And even then tires are hard to suggest because nominal figures work out quite differently in reality quite often. I am super happy with Bontrager hard case lite tires, but they might be out of production. Never had a flat with those ( but the ones I got are 32mm). The 20miles on non paved roads have the potential to ruin your trip or at least your schedule.
You might get better information out of the other cycling groups, you aren’t going to find a lot of applications for tires like that in bikepacking land.
Panaracer Pasela Protite is the best you will do, IMO.
