There are only two kinds of mtb’ers now. Middle aged riders and rich parent having riders.

  2. why you got to hate on other riders? the more out there the more chance we have for more trails. I fit the mold of being middle aged. full faced helmet and a belly. everything else is wrong (besides probably an ER trip)

Nearly all ebikers i have seen wear trousers, and I am assuming it is to keep warm due to lack of exertion

  4. Nice. I think I’d add knee pads. And where’s the after ride beer? That gut isn’t going to grow itself.

It’s ironic to see this! I just joined this sub yesterday and I’m 46. Kids are grown and I’m looking to get back into things I enjoyed in my early 20s before parenthood and I thought, I feel pretty good, let’s see how much things have changed and if there are others like me.

Are older guys shunned or is it just poking fun at clichés? Because I was thinking of everything in the starter kit but now I’m thinking I’ll just get a new bike…. And maybe the ER trip 😂

As someone sitting at my desk in a sling who’s about to miss a bucket list trip to the White Rim Trail next week I feel attacked

  7. I also love how the bike went from full suspension to hardtail in the ER pic.  That symbolizes the eventual transition to XC riding that all middle aged men must undertake.

  8. Strongly disagree. I go to my local orthopedic urgent care. Cheaper and less wait time than the ER. Downside is outpatient MRIs take 2 weeks.

  9. The real miss here is that a guy like that would not ride anything but an eMtb bike and then act like he is actually working out just as hard as if he were on a real bike

Yep. That would be me, only my beer belly is slightly smaller because I can ride year round. Lol
