If I can ride on this is there something I can do to prevent a flat here?

You can try a dab of super glue or shoe glue. Ive had great success with 60ml of Stans Sealant in each of my inner tubes. There are videos of how to on youtube. Ive been very unsuccessful gluing inside tyres using vulcanising glue & patch as it may damage the cords & ruin the tyre. Maybe a glueless patch on the inside of the tyre may help.

Sidenote, whenever you get a flat, make sure you note where the tire is on the rim before taking it off so you can check specific areas of the tire once you figure out where the hole is in your tube.

Also when the tire is off it doesn’t hurt to run your hand over the inside of all of it checking for any other materials that could be getting at the tube.

Last note! If you aren’t sure, also check the rim tape to make sure there isn’t an issue there.

Yeah, your flat is pretty cut and dry but putting a new tube in and getting a flat immediately after sucks haha

Ps- a patch kit (I prefer the vulcanizing kits) is a must!

  4. Yeah bro. Ive rideen with many small punctures on my tire and no tread left. But your tires look fine judt patch it

If it tears open more you might get a bulge, caused by the cords separating. It looks like a bubble, you know? Usually buldges occur on the side wall but it can happen in the middle too. Just keep an eye out for that and ride on. If a buldge happens you have to change the tire

  6. Tires (unless tubeless & sealed) aren’t airtight, that hole doesn’t make a difference.
