Got this crazy unlucky puncture on a relatively new tire. I put about 900 miles on it. I've already replaced it but now I'm wondering if it has any life in it before I throw it away. Thanks!
Maybe not. Unscrew the screw. Patch the tube. Inflate. If it has a bulge, then yeah, probably done. But if not you can just ride. I’ve had worse.

I would put a boot in it and then keep using it.

You could glue a puncture patch from the inside of the tire and send it

not necessarily. itโs not the side wall, so that is good. put a patch on the inside of the tire and then over inflate it and see it is holds.

Like others have said I would try to repair that and keeping riding, however I’d def. swap it with the back tire just in case (assuming they’re both only have 900mi on them)

Lucky you! That screw could’ve hit the rim

Tis but a scratch

You will want to keep an eye on it. A bunch of threads have been cut, which may lead to more breaking under pressure. Unless and until that happens, no worries.

You could patch it and Iโm sure it will be fine.

Not time to rest for this tire yet, as have been said you can patch it and see if it still holds air. Many miles left.
