I'm looking to get into mountain biking on a tight budget and have seen 2 used bikes that piqued my interest (both seem very legit, not stolen). If someone more knowledgeable than I can give me an idea of what to go for, that'd help a lot.

Carrera Fury from 2012 which has has a bunch of upgrades done to it (see first 2 pictures) and I can get for £200

Carrera Vengeance from 2020 which is close to stock at £150. (Third Picture)
I saw some people say that new frames are significantly better than old ones, but considering the Fury is a higher end bike, and it's had upgrades done to it, I'm not so sure.

First one for a first bike. You will not notice the older geo but you will notice the lower end drivetrain and lack of a dropper post on the newer bike.
