Yeah, Freedare’s decent for starting out. Just factor in Toronto hills and maybe upgrade the brakes later.

Around town maybe some lite gravel, sure.. but do not expect it to go in the woods and run the trails well

Make no mistake, a beginner bike is all this is. If you try to do a 12 mile ride and have a horrible time, this bike is likely the reason. And if you’re a heavy person, you’ll need to replace those rims fairly quickly.
I would also say that this bike is priced to be haggled to $100, especially if the chain and tyres are in good condition. Otherwise you’ll end up spending the price of the bike again fixing it up.
