Join me for a peaceful and scenic spring ride along Gozo’s breath-taking south coast, filmed on Freedom Day—a public holiday in Malta. With perfect blue skies and wildflowers in full bloom, this was the ideal morning for a relaxed cycling session across some of the island’s most iconic coastal paths. 🌼🚴‍♂️

Starting from my hometown of Xagħra, we ride downhill through Tas-Sellum, cutting through Ulysses Grove before reaching the south coast just above Mġarr ix-Xini—with its historic 16th-century watchtower in view.

The route winds past Wied Sabbar, Tal-Iskandlu, and the scenic dirt path above the Maltese Channel, with views of Malta in the distance. I speed up along the straight trail in L-Iżgandlu and Ta’ Bolonja, enjoying the spring landscape of green grass, crown daisies, and Mediterranean blue skies. 🌊🌸

We briefly pass through Sannat, cycling by the farmer sculpture roundabout, then head back off-road to the spectacular Ta’ Ċenċ Cliffs (also known as Sanap Cliffs), the highest in Gozo at 150 meters!

The ride continues through Xlendi Bay, Għajn Tuta, and the quiet hamlet of Santa Luċija, before finishing up near Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary and the parish church of Għasri—a perfect close to a springtime cycling journey across Malta’s sister island.
