I have the possibility to buy an unused secondhand [Trek FX3](https://www.trekbikes.com/us/en_US/bikes/hybrid-bikes/fitness-bikes/fx/fx-3-disc/p/35021/?colorCode=blue_bluedark) for almost half of its original price. It’s the first time ever I’m willing to invest that much in a bicycle.
My question is the following: until now, I only ever owned bikes with a front fork suspension (my most expensive bike so far was maybe 300 euros when it was new though) and I’m wondering if I’ll have any comfort / durability issues with the FX3.
I mostly ride on roads, but I live in Eastern Europe and the asphalt is rough and often full of potholes. In smaller towns / cities it’s virtually impossible to ride on the road (no bike lanes and dangerous drivers) so I often have to ride on the sidewalks and go down a lot of curbstones. That’s for 75% of my bicycle use, the rest is gravel trails.
I’m especially wondering if the absence of a front suspension would lead to damage to wheels and front fork.
Thanks a lot for your help !
