  1. A few more details: bought the crankset used, so no invoice/warranty (and I think the warranty expired anyway).

    There is no Shimano dealer in my country.

    I could not find any Shimano part for this component, it seems the only official way would be replacing the left crank, which is too expensive to be a sensible choice.

    What options do I have?

  2. Considering that is held on with adhesive, I’d imagine it’s not meant to be end-user serviceable and therefor probably no parts availability. If you can’t send it back, you’re most likely going to have to scrap it, run it as is, or get creative.

    Just a random DIY suggestion… the original Shimano cap is held on with adhesive: why not do the same but improve the design?

    I’d suggest: find a small sheet of black ABS plastic (maybe in your recycle bin or printed on a 3d printer) and cut it to fit this area as a cover. Get some epoxy resin and bond the plastic sheet where the cap is missing with liberal use of epoxy (to bond better and waterproof this interface). Done! Should work as good as factory if you don’t mind the DIY appearance of this fix!
