saturday is my least favorite day to commute. there are too many other cyclists and pedestrians on the bike path i take to work so it takes me at least 10 more minutes to get to work

Yea, it depends on where you’re at and which paths you take. There’s less traffic in places that weekday workers make busy; those are good times to hit the gutter lanes. Here in the DSM metro, road traffic only differs; workers in a hurry during am/pm rush hours, then shoppers on weekends.

But the worst are some weekenders; they conquer designated trails that are used all the time, by us full timers. For over a decade [their site](https://www.dsm.city/departments/parks_and_recreation-division/places/trails.php) plainly claims this: *Trails are not just for exercise; numerous riders utilize trails for their daily commute, year-round.*

But the weekenders think it’s there for them alone, during their 1.5 hours per week of good weather days that they’re on it. And oddly, we’re talking about mostly White 30-something women, who I’m assuming are Office Nazis; they’re a half-dozen cyclists all together, and the She-boss is barking commandments to all other trail users. I’m on my e-scooter with my JBL Wind 3 blasting; I ignore the She-boss commandments; man they can get infuriated when they’re ignored!

I enjoy my Sunday morning commute because at that hour it’s so quiet. I can fly down Fifth Avenue. The way home is a bit more sedate because the park is full of people doing their afternoon chill.
