Went for a really good micro adventure last weekend with 3 of my non-hardcore cyclist pals. We did a nice 84 mile, 2 night trip at a couple of campsites and travelled all along the main Bournemouth coast on the hottest day of the year, dodging everyone and everything that stood in our way, it was pretty crazy down there!
There were some lush trails too, I think some of it was route 25, through the new forest, lovely clean fresh gravel through the trees and nice steady undulation. Every now and then you find a nice river to paddle in. The new clean and fresh area around Poole fully caters for cyclists, the infrastructure for us is excellent around there and it was really lovely riding along the harbour/marina area.
I’m from Kent, rode earlier this year all across to Cornwall for charity (402 miles!) and this was one of the nicest areas I passed through so it was great to take my pals and share it with them even though the sun was brutally hot, we all had a great weekend of riding and camping and also enjoyed one or two beers! 😉 🍻 cheers!

1 rider on a Trek Hybrid
2 riders on Carrera Vengeance mountain bikes, myself included. It’s a cheap Halfords bike, but I’ve had a fantastic 3500+ miles of riding on it since I bought it last year and I absolutely love it. Here’s to the next 3500.
