I’m currently turning a similar bike into a “Dad” bike, and generally you want the same.

    1. Smooth rolling tires, like Maxxis DTH, Pace, or similar depending on your preference and road roughness.
    2. Add good fenders, the more coverage the better.
    3. Riser stem and upright bars. A 35 degree 110mm stem with something like Velo Orange Seine or Curvy bars. You want to be able to be able comfortably ride upright and watch for traffic and such.
    4. A saddle that works for your bum, likely it will be much less padded than is on there now unless you have a short commute.
