Idk but I know on mg bmx I’ve snapped chains doing wheelies. Maybe it’s the torque on it. I’d suggest getting a half link chain next time.

  2. Cause your bike is bent! Freehub is cockeyed and will continue to snap chains. 👍🏼

  3. Something isn’t right in that pic. Could be just a bad camera angle but it looks like things are twisted and single speed chain has next to no tolerance for any lateral mpovement, Its designed for arrow straight chainlines with no sideways deflection. If there is a twist as it looks in the photo it will put so much strain through the chain that it probably will snap fairly easily. Solution is to get everything perfectly in line and then invest in a heavy duty chain which will not be cheap but you have to look at this differently. Which is cheaper 1 chain at £55 or 5 chains at £15 that snap?

Bent bike and there’s wear marks indicating the chain is bottoming out on the hub, which puts stress on the plates.

As the others have mentioned, it’s likely the misalignment in the bike. If there is misalignment the chain links can get flexed back and forth which causes metal fatigue leading the the chain breaking prematurely. Straighten out your drivetrain and ensure the chain line is not twisted.
