Hi Everyone.

Very new to the road bike and it’s my first bike. It’s Endurace CF 7 AXS. Trying to install the front wheel and had some issues.

Want to Install the front wheel but its brake disc can’t sit between the brake pads. I’m thinking because I pressed the brake while I move the frame? See the pics below.

Any one knows how to solve this issue? Seems the pads are very close to each other.

The other question is my front wheel comes with quick release handle. However both video and manual show with regular axle so can use torque wrench. How do you tighten the front wheel with quick release handle using torque wrench so to reach certain N•M?

Appreciate!

  1. Yes it’s because the brake lever was pressed when the wheel was not in place. You can get on of those disc brake pad spreader. Park Tool has one called PS-1. Honestly anything that resembles that will work. I’ve done it before with a butter knife, just be careful you don’t damage the pads

Yep, that’s why they tell you not to squeeze the brake level in the assembly SOP and probably shipped it with a spacer between the pads.

You can spread it with something sufficiently smooth and blunt. I see a butter knife was already recommended but if you happen to have something like an automotive interior trim tool kit with plastic prying tools or one of those plastic spudger tools for prying apart mobile phones and other electronics that should work well enough. Maybe a plastic cake knife if you happen to have one or even a plastic knife, be gentle and avoid using something that will gouge or scratch the pads.
