Hey everyone,
I just got a brand-new sram red e1 chain, and I noticed that one of the links is darker than the rest, it definitely stands out. Is it some kind of uncoted link or does it serve some kind of function? Just wondering if I should be concerned or if it’s just a manufacturing thing.
Appreciate any insights!

Not sure if it serves another purpose but it’s a good visual aid when lubing your chain.
Start there, end there.
My E1 chain doesn’t have it.
