Hi! This is my husband’s very old and neglected bike. Can I use a normal “nut” to put the front tire back on? Or is there one specific to bikes? I know nothing about bikes.

No you need an old fashioned quick release skewer. Should be about $10 or pennies at your local co-op. Make sure you get a short one for front wheel. This bike worth it.
