Try to repair or replace caliper?

So both of my calipers are leaking brake fluid when breaking. one more than the other. I went to a bike Shop and the guy said i should replace it. But i dont want to buy new calipers because theyre expensive. Can i not just open them and replace the o-rings? Idk why they even started leaking in the first place.
