I have 2.1 Thunderburts front and rear. Going to go to a 2.25 up front next time I need tires.

Have run 40s, 45s and now these and they’re faster and more comfortable than the smaller tires.

  2. My lynskey came with 2.1 GravelKing SKs and I find that massive for mostly road and occasional gravel riding. Running terra speed 40s now.

  3. I run 2.35″ x 27.5″ for my knobby tires and 43m x 700c for my road/hard-pack -oriented tires.

  4. 2.2s for anything chunky or technical. 50s with tread if it’s loose and like 70% gravel with some pavement. 45s for true 50/50 gravel and pavement mix but with maybe type 2 gravel. And 40 semi-slicks for that shit that may as well be a road race most of the time, like BWR CA

  5. My grave had 40mm it allows up to 45mm and that’s as large I want to go, I ran 2.1 on my 90s mtb before and I find 45mm is the goldilock.

I like that green on your bike.👍

  6. Man I just swapped to barzos for a race from pirellis cinturato h, they feel so slow I can hardly stand it! How do other people find these tires to feel?

Minimum of 2.8 but currently 3.0 and 2.8 (just waiting to swap my rear to 3.0.

Once you get above 55mm my feeling is go as big as the frame fits. Between 35-55mm it might be about best tire for the terrain (mostly pavement, mostly chunky gravel) but after that I feel like biggest tire that fits is the best. At least that is my philosophy

  8. I discovered 2.2 on 650b isn’t the limit on my SECAN 3.0… so I shall try bigger tired some day
