I am partial to Univega because it was the first mountain bike I bought with one of my first paychecks, a 1996 Univega Alpina 800

That’s gonna be a comfortable ride! Dig that high rise stem. If you’re losing motivation no shame in taking a break from the project till you come around to it again with some fresh ideas. I’ve been working on a mixte frame I found in the trash little by little for over a year, no rush!
