95% of my riding is on pavement. Its fairly flat where I live not a ton of hills. Im wondering if theres a better option for tires than what the bike came with. I dont have an issue with the stock tires but I am curious if there are better ones out there that make a noticeable difference. I was reading another post where someone switched out tires and noticed a night and day difference in performance so it got me wondering.

  1. What do you mean by better? Are you racing? Do you want a more cushioned ride?

I feel yours are 10 speeds. I am also fx2 gen4. I switched to gp5000 and I feel I can ride slightly faster than before.

  3. I got the FX3 and my LBS was suggesting wider tires. But with the cost of the bike and accessories I got, it was $1500. So I was like ehhh, I’ll wait. LOL

Getting the biggest tyre you can will feel more comfortable, and there are higher quality tyres that will roll faster too.

But you will have to spend a bit to get the best of both worlds.

If you’re happy enough now, just wait till your tyres are worn, and then replace with something different

Yes, as a former fx4 owner whose wife still has an fx3, those tires are terrible boarding on downright dangerous. They have essentially zero grip in the wet, shits scary. Basically any name brand tire will be an upgrade, but I’m partial to wtb expanse as a versatile hybrid tire.
