  1. @ 3:18 It wiil and is going to change everyones life as the cost of things will go up and will cost the Welsh economy up to £8.9 billion, slow down our emergency services, and negatively impact people's livelihoods what a moron !

  2. Don’t Call a Reporter from Wales on Line a TW4,t. They will report you to YouTube for Hurty Feelings and get you a 24 hour Ban…. Free speech my Ars3…

  3. It's not just the 20mph zones in Carmarthen town that are frustrating, it's the reduction of higher speed limits (e.g. 40 now dropped to 30) that have been put in place as well. You say you don't see why everyone is angry but by your own (very short!) experiment you can see that roads that were fine at 30 have been unnecessarily reduced. The government's own report states that this will do little to improve road safety. You fail to highlight the real reason for this is to force people out of their cars! ( Also shown in the WAG's own report)

  4. The next thing on the agenda is they will be controlling your electric cars. Yes have 20 mph zones for schools places like that but come on people this is all part of a Govt control agenda

  5. Most good drivers drive to the road conditions and not the speed limit. The bad drivers will still drive too fast for the conditions.
Cars today have so much better technology than in the past. This is just Welsh government trying to be Green and please the minority 😢

  6. many unnecessary accidents and injuries to follow as people continually take their eyes off the road for fear of a fine but after all, its nothing to do with safety, but revenue. another step backwards.

  7. I wonder what percentage of the Welsh traffic is actually obeying the 20 mph speed limit? At some point everybody will exceed 20 mph during their journey (your speedo registered 21 during this video) so technically everybody driving in Wales in a 20 zone will have broken the law. It won't be good for the environment as they cars aren't geared to plod along at 20 mph, It would be interesting to know if this is increasing consumption.

  8. Its nothing to do with safety, they're not catching enough drivers at the 30 mph limit so they just reduced it to 20 mph. A nice little earner for this padasitic government.

  9. It's all about gearing up for the electric car! A petrol or diesel car travelling at 30mph can stop in a shorter distance than an electric car due to it being heavier. The momentum pushing it forward means it takes longer to slow down and stop. Answer… lower the speed limit, problem solved. How long will it be before they change the limits in the highway code? It's coming, no doubt about it.

  10. It's really easy, if you see a sign saying 30, the speed limit is 30, if there is a sign saying 20, the limit is 20, if you see a sign saying 50….guess what? Why are you pretending to be confused?
I'm guessing you aspire to be the next Jeremy Vine.

  11. The fun comes when you are going between Wales and England.
Also people say it's ok to have a 20mph outside schools, you couldn't do 20mph if you wanted to because the parents cause chaos dropping their children off because they illegally park anywhere

  12. These pro-20 mph zealots are not aware if a fire station for example, is a part time station the drivers need to get to the fire station as quickly as possible, but they are restricted by the same 20 mph limit ! Only when in the fire engine will they be allowed to brake the speed limit ! So people may die as a result in a countryside station where their are no full time staff, the same for the lifeboats where they are scrambled from their place of work, they too will have to obey those 20 mph limits, this will lead to deaths at sea as well as in fire situations, that the only logical conclusion.

  13. What this will do is create a nation of children who aren't threatened by moving vehicles. They'll go and get clobbered on roads with a 40 limit that will look much the same to them. Child pedestrian deaths will increase.

  14. I do recall a similar amount of fuss when we were first forced to wear seat belts. Some even bought t-shirts with a fake seat belt printed on the front in order to avoid wearing a real one.
I think the people wearing fake seat belts have now died out!

  15. Sticking to the 20 limit can be tricky, but people will gradually get used to it.
    Two tips:
Set you satnav to beep if your speed exceeds 20.
Or, if you have a modern var with a speed limiter, like most Ford cars these days, just set the limiter to 20.
Remember, you don't have to stick to exactly 20, any more than you have to stick to exactly 70 on a motorway. If you have trouble keeping under 20, just give yourself a bit of leeway, by driving at 15.

  16. Why tf have they reduced the speed limit to 20mph? Then they'll reduce it to 10mph its absolutley insane. May aswell just walk everywhere. The guy or people who commissioned this needs to be severely punished for this.

  17. A person commented this on another video.

Of the 1,002 respondents surveyed, 16% expressed 'concern' over cars driving too fast – so 160 people. Of that 16% just 3% (so around 5 people) stated that they would want speed limits in their local area lowered. So, five Welsh residents said they wanted speed limits lowered vs. over 500,000 people who objected via the petition. Hmm, democracy is alive and well in Wales.

  18. My car has cruise control so it’s easy to stick to 20mph. This speed limit will probably encourage more people to cycle, which is good for health and reduces congestion.

  19. Well clever guy, what if you were a care worker having to get to multiple appointments in a short time, or an ambulance crew responding to an emergency but cant make any progress because the 20mph limit has gridlocked the area and these things are already happening.

  20. People still tear-ass through my village like they have always done. Most people, that I see, don't take any notice of speed limits; whether it was/is 20mph/30mph/50mph…. drive at 50mph on the M4 either side of the Brynglas tunnels (Wales) (mandatory 50mph limit) and you will be overtaken; at times at great speed. I think folk should just chill out and leave their start destination a bit earlier. Too much rush & panic in this world.

  21. I am Welsh and when I go driving down the town my car is stuck in second gear to stay below 20 mph and I am looking more at my Speedo than what is going on around me in the road whilst my car engine is over revering because it wants to go into third gear as cars are not designed to drive at 20 mph all the time and yesterday a electric bicycle over took me doing about 21 mph and therefore I will be signing the petition

  22. Its not called WALES anymore its called SNAILS. Welcome to SNAILS everyone! If we went any slower, we'd be going backwards. The speed limit is retarded. I wander who's idea this was?

  23. It looked very slow so I played the video at double speed to get to your conclusion. Unfortunately, this means you were seen to 40 mph in a 20 mph zone and the ticket is in the post.
