  1. Don’t do it under tension/stress. That is a very small bolt and it can strip easily.

    Yes, but:

    1) You don’t want it absolutely tight, or even snug. Just enough to have minimal sag at the bottom.

    2) If the chain has become loose over time, DO NOT use this adjustment to “fix” it. The chain is probably worn out and needs to be replaced before it wrecks the rest of the drivetrain.

    IIRC, that is a “mid drive” e-bike (motor is at the crankset). Mid drive e-bikes can wear out chains quickly. A worn chain doesn’t mesh with the cogs properly, and accelerates wear on the chainring and rear cog. The chain is relatively inexpensive and very easy to replace. The chainring and rear cog are labor intensive to replace.
