Hi everyone! As you can see in the pics, the sprocket is quite far from the frame but the crank arm almost touches it. For reference I have Profile cranks. I don't think adding spacer rings between the sprocket and the crank arm is a good idea…
That said, my chainline is off, and I don't see how this setup will work as is.
The goal is to bring the sprocket closer to the frame.
I'm considering getting new cranks, but if anyone has suggestions, I'd really appreciate it!

    Looks like there is a black spacer between the bottom bracket and the sprocket.

  2. Unfortunately bmx chain lines have got worse and worse over the years do to wider stays for clearance. If your chainring needs to be further out from the bb, and there’s sufficient axle on the arm, then it’s more spacers. If the chainring needs to be closer in remove a washer. New cranks won’t solve your issue.

    If you had a spline drive sprocket you could put a spacer between the sprocket and the crank arm. With a bolt driven sprocket I don’t think doing that would be ideal.
