I have recently come across a pair of rusty bikes in the field well somebody gave them to me because they had a lot of old bikes But they are very rusty Not broken but rusty. They both still have headlight dynamos. The only issue is they are too rusty shut to open but I mistakenly stripped the rear screw instead. Whoops. It is a 60's or so miller dynamo. I would really like to use this because it is cool. And also decent modern dynamos cost like two hundred fifty dollars a set so. Thanks for the help

where the heck do you look? those Tire sidewall dynamos are 6 bucks apiece at best. Those things are way too cheap to justify this restore, unless you really wanna go the extra mile and even thats gonna be a headache, since you basically need to replace any internals anyways. You will have enough fun derusting the whole bike.
Inside those are small gears, cables and magnets, and they are rarely made to be opened.
so my conclusion: buy a cheap silver Dynamo from union, [looks basically the same](https://studiobrisant.com/en/union-dynamo-un-4190-seitenlaeufer-rechts-links), just lacks the miller branding. (the prices for those on the used market are nuts…. the heck!)
There’s a $20 one on Amazon [https://www.amazon.com/Wai-Danie-Generator-Waterproof-Alternating/dp/B07X2B1DVG](https://www.amazon.com/Wai-Danie-Generator-Waterproof-Alternating/dp/B07X2B1DVG)
I’ve never tried to take one apart and am not sure you could get it back together if you did
