Are you a giant or is that a toy bike?
Adding panniers to the front fork (if you have the attachments for them) would better distribute the weight and provide you with more packing space.
This is pretty much the classic touring set-up. I’ve used the same as late as 2019. I had a pair of small front panniers and a low rider rack for a few years, and now a pair of fork bags. You could try either of those options.
Nice looking bike. Is it a Fuji?
