I’ve been looking out for a salsa Fargo for a while now but nothing has been for sale in my area. A salsa cutthroat popped up at a really good deal, it’s a 2021 apex 1 in good condition for $1200 (see pic below, talked him down to $1000)
Essentially my question is:
Should I wait for a salsa Fargo, or should I go with the cutthroat?
Background on me: I bike to work and pretty much everywhere in Los Angeles with a trek commuter bike. I’ve been getting more into gravel riding on the weekends and love to go bikepacking on several day trips in CA. Eventually I’d like to bikepacking from AK to South America. Hence why I’m looking at Salsa! I’m not looking to be invovled in any races, and more just tour for the experience. I’ve heard the Fargo may be better for this because it’s steel and has more loadouts. The cutthroat seems super cool and really highly rated. Any advice appreciated! Looking to spend no more than $1500
