Next week I am leaving from my home city: The Hague, Netherlands and going towards south eastern Europe. So the end destination is either Athens, Istanbul, something in that region. I do want to go through Prague, Vienna and Budapest. After that it's still unknown. I have experience with doing this length of trips. I'm gonna be camping most of the time and I have about 8 weeks. I'll book a plane ticket to go back along the way, when I'm more sure where I end up.

This is the approximate concept route I made, and this all follows Eurovelo.

Now, I would like to see as many places, countries and landscapes as possible while going around 75-85km per day.

Does anyone have any route suggestions for this part of the trip, there's multiple way to go across the Balkans ofcourse. Any last words of advice on this region is also very welcome!

  1. Just following the rivers might get boring after a while. I like to detour a bit every now and then. Also, my experience with visiting big cities wasn’t the best. But if you really want to visit all three…
I’d rather go through Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, would be much more interesting and diverse.
