The autumn 2023 bikepacking Britain trip takes me down the North Yorkshire Coast, along some of the best seaside spots in the country: the gothic Whitby, the smugglers cove of Robin Hoods Bay and the quintessential English seaside resort of Scarborough. But in the thick fog, these places have a very different feel to them. Then onward to the geographically amazing Spurn Point, and then down the sunny Lincolnshire coastline to the edge of the Wash!

Excellent video as always, entertaining and informative. Keep up the great work.
There's a bit of a delay there, Ollie – Autumn 23 to Spring 25! π
Nice one Ollie….all that fog, like my head first thing in the morning. Still. looks like you had a good time all the same…
Niiice! I fleetingly visited the Sound Mirror at Kilnsea last spring. Where did you stay over that night?
Ollie, fog or no fog— you always put out a great/enjoyable watch.
Back in the day I remember the song βFog on the Tyneβ it all makes sense now.Still an interesting video though.
Skeggy was my boyhood Blackpool as I lived in Nottingham. Also had a teenage holiday with a mate in Mablethorpe in early June and my abiding memory was that it snowed which has more cred than fog π
Another brilliant video. Thank you for taking us along with you
Another great video! I did almost the same cycle as you a couple of summers ago during a heatwave and really enjoyed it – like you I love weird geographical anomalies, so Spurn Point was fascinating! I actually really liked Hull as well – didn't expect to given the press it gets, but I thought it was lovely in the sunshine.
Something you might like to use…even though I think you have in a previous video of yours. Runcorn used to have a transporter bridge too! So that's at least 2 in this country alone π
great video – great ride Ollie ! Really enjoyed it and lookin' forward to the next leg!
I live in Whitby. We do get some sea mists. I love the promenade and west cliff. I love the abbey.
A good video. Hope you enjoyed the ride, despite the mist.
I realise golf might be considered a sport of the bourgeoisie, but crazy golf is a game of the proletariat, can't believe you breezed past so many. Great Yarmouth has a terrific pirate-themed links, highly recommended. ππ
Hi Ollie, great to see you back on tour. Your daily mileage impresses me, a pleasure to follow your trip.
Just be careful you don't get withdrawal symptoms from being so far from Mancland. Just an aside, the comic Mike Yarwood had been performing in Middlesbrough and got a bit lost on the way back. He saw a bridge and thought it would be a good way to get back on track. Only at the last second he saw a gate and crashed through it. Fortunately there was some catch netting below so he didn't end up in the River Tees. There was a suggestion he may have enjoyed a hearty meal before getting in his Jag.
Thatβs sea fret, grew up in Hartlepool, happens a lot. If you rode 2 miles in land would be lovely. Such is costal life in the east
Loved it as a Yorkshireman who also knows the North Lincolnshire coast well.
Well done. Regardless of the weather it's still an achievement even if you didn't get to see the much of the sea. let's hope things improve for the rest of your journey we have really enjoyed watching you do all the hard work and thank you for that and another great video. J&S.
Itβs been a while but well done I see this is quite a while after you did it. I am guessing you have already been though east Anglia
Skipped through this but it looks like youβre riding a bicycle on public roads.
This is a dangerous and annoying hobby and Iβm afraid that I cannot endorse this.
Love cloudy skies and fog. Unfortunately, I live in the wrong town. I do have the cloudy skies. Beautiful! Thank you for sharing, from Western Washington, have a wonderful day.
