Bought this bike off FB Marketplace for 30 euro, right now it's a piece o junk but I'll try to restore it to it's former glory as much as possible, not for riding purposes but as a decoration to my house. But I'll keep it fully functional.
I've always ridden bikes all my life, and I've always wanted to restore an old bike. This is it now.
I'm just surprised that with that amount of rust, wheels and cranks still work decently

The bike is a steal
That’s awesome, and a great deal. Old rod-actuated brakes. Looks like it should clean up nicely. I’ve restored a few old bikes in similar shape.
Old lacquer paint can clean up nicely and retain a great patina and history – whatever you do, don’t paint it. Gentle soap wash, paint can be hand polished but be careful with any logos, pinstriping, etc.
Chrome or stainless parts should reasonably clean up and could be polished.
It’s much easier if you disassemble the whole thing down to the frame for a full resto, plus you can regrease the bearings. The seatpost or bottom bracket bearing cups might be stuck in place. If that’s the case then I wouldn’t bother going further if it’s more for decoration than riding.
What year would this bike be from and what country of origin? I guess it’s from around 1935, give or take a decade. Have no clue where it’s from though.
