I prefer the red frame over the yellow simply for aesthetics. The Apex would look good with a full blackout Deore groupset, the set to which the Panasonic‘s crank belongs. Plus you can do some silly stuff with the purple accents if you’re into that sort of thing. Aside from that it’s a clean frame. I’m partial to red though. It pops.

I have that same Apex frame. Turned it into my gravel commuter w a Pelago front rack and salsa cowchipper drops. Running it as a 2×8 compact double with Claris 8spd brifters. Doesn’t do anything exceptional but it can do a lot.
The yellow Panasonic has the wrong brake levers. Long pull V-brake levers, both the front canti and rear brake are short pull. Makes the levers feel great, but you have zero stopping power. It’s like wet steel rims on an old crappy ten speed.
