Deore is a trash group set they put on kids bikes(literal toys) with qr skewers. It’s hardly an accomplishment to get it to work right. It’s about 2.5 steps up from the Tourney. They put on bikes at Walmart. Why did you come here to brag about?

i used to have the first deore 3×9, bought from my first summer job

Doing any bike maintenance can be a tedious task, you did a damn good job here. Keep learning and you will discover it gets easier. There is absolutely nothing wrong with deore 10 speed. Shimano has ruled cable shifting for at least the last decade if not two decades.
