This is 4mm Jagwire shift housing and I’m using the included plastic ferrule. The shifter is from Sensah (Chinese brand).
Without the ferrule, it’s pretty loose, so I’m assuming that I need one. Is there a shorter one that I’m supposed to use? Can I just cut the ferrule I have in half?

Between the rubber and the bar tape it will be forced to lay flat.
