I ordered a Speedmax shipped to BC, and I just received an email from UPS about the fees. The duty (I bought some small accessories) and "HST or GST + PST" look correct (5% in BC). However, it also shows "Other Government Charges" and came to a big amount. What is it for and should it be charged? I asked other people who purchased in Canada, and I was told there were only 5% GST and Brokerage Fee for BC addresses.
In addition, I live in the US and am not a permanent resident or citizen of Canada. I shipped the bike to a friend's address because Canyon doesn't offer this model on the US website. Is there any chance I can self-clear it? Or do I have no other option but to pay the full amount?
Any help would be appreciated. And here's a screenshot of the fee breakdown

Update: One post says the "Other Government Charges" is the PST which matches the 7% in BC, but it should be exempted for bikes. So is there a way that I can clear the package myself?

I have the exact same issue right now and I’m in BC. I was charged 5% tax and 7% “other government charges” as well. It’s my understanding all bikes are 7% PST exempt in BC since 2021 and bikes to Canada should be duty exempt through a Canadian/German free trade agreement. Should only be charged the 5% GST. Wondering if other recent importers have any insight.
