  1. LOL Wild rooster…. wild rhymes with chilled, rooster rhymes with boaster, cattle grid would be English term… roster/grid, in the road, to stop animals with hooves from passing.
That light in the sky is called the "sun", in the evening, it is low in the west, want to drive back? Drive east.., and read the place names on the stone "toadstool" ..at the beginning of your ride..

  2. You are def not a person to put in central Amsterdam. šŸ˜‚I see you love nature and some peace and quiet (sorry for my english šŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļøI’m trying šŸ˜…)

  3. Vaassen is on the border of forests, and river valley grass lands, along the river IJssel, the forests are to the west of Vaassen (..V is to F what s is too z remember, in Dutch, NOT A WWW not even close and two aa's so aaaaaah…So you do not need to wash…:)

  4. 7.30 on your right hand a sign, i guess Natuurmonumenten. It is an answer to what kind of property it is.

Today 3.27, that is definitely spring. Mostly in December you can already see the buds in the trees. Might be a bit later in the east of the country.

  5. 7:29 Oh yeah, definitely. In more rural areas people will cycle for fun all the time on weekends and stuff, at least for the few months a year where the weather's nice.

14:42 Nature reserve. The circular symbol is a general Dutch road sign, forbidding you from driving any vehicles up there from either end. But then the first exception below states that bicycles are allowed, and the second one gives an additional pass to motorized vehicles on the condition that your property happens to connect to the path.

That kinda shit is actually pretty easy to figure out nowadays with a phone. "Road signs in the Netherlands" on Wikipedia will tell you all the basics and then you can just use some translation app for any text that's tagged on.

    17:14 Yep, spot on.

  6. Spring's about to come, be prepared for sheer green fireworks! 😊 this part of the country is soo beautiful the coming 7 months.

  7. Haha just when I thought you where doing a great job de-americanifying your brain you start talking about kidnapping and knifes…. whilst amids million dollar homes…. LOL!🤣

  8. There are lots of these type of areas in The Netherlands. Just go out of the overly crowded Holland provinces.. allthough, if you do your research, even there are a few rural gems..

  9. Am i the only listening as to how the bike sounds?. My bike-ocd kicks in. But imho it needs some love and attention. I like your vids btw.

  10. The fences with the thin wire and the wide mesh are normally just there to keep deer away so they don't destroy the new shoots. It doesn't even have to be private property.

I had a very similar experience as you with the lovely sunlight and was cycling through the fields here on the outskirts of Berlin, one hour ago. And I actually saw one of the wild roosters. I see them from time to time; and even dear I encounterey, but they are very common here.

  11. I meet couples from USA all the time in the summer thaet are biking their way all over Netherlands and camping. they have saddle bags on front and back full of their gear.,

  12. You'll be amazed. These houses are definitely on-grid. Most have connection to the sewer, gas and now even fiber systems. The Netherlands is a city that looks like a country.

  13. The 'Wild Rooster' stands for Wildlife Grid in the road. The warning is for drivers not to get startled by the change of road noise, which can be pretty loud inside a car.. It has nothing to do with a male version of a chicken, some of which would warrant warning signs since they can be pretty aggressive and hazardous.

  14. Gorgeous! Winter on good days like these brings out the best in our countryside. Spring's almost in the air, but it's not quite there yet… Enjoying your bike rides, so keep it up! šŸ™‚

  15. Wow, you made it out of the forest where every American always completely disappears for ever.. Unless this is found footage. šŸ™‚
More of these nature rides please. This one was too short.
