Hey folks new to bike wrenching and quickly encountered an issue.
I have an Ozark Trail G.1 Explorer (and iconically the brakes suck). I bought some TRP Spyres for $20 for the pair and realized they are flat mounts and was informed that my bike has post mounts, so I’d need an adapter.
Fast forward – I bought the adapters (flat mount caliper to post mount from Ali Express to upgrade to 180mm rotors while I’m at it) for front and rear. I have space in the rear and completed it.
However for the front I’m stumped, as the adapter just doesn’t have clearance on this “side mount” with an adapter. Isn’t it just a standard adapter to fit?
Really appreciate the help in advance. Happy to clarify as I’m a complete newbie with bike maintenance (but love it).
TLDR – need help with front brake caliper installation, adapter I bought doesn’t fit into fork/side mount adapter that came with bike.

Your bike has IS mounts with a post mount adapter. Get an IS to flat mount adapter.
Hey, this may just be the way it’s photographed, but it kind of looks like there’s a crack alongside that weld. Have a look at that.
