I am quite the beginner when it comes to buying used bikes. This Cross Check is for sale right near where I live on Facebook Marketplace and has caught my eye. The seller changed most of the components from stock:
* 2021 61m Surly Cross Check Frame
* Cane creek headset, Tektro brakes, and the brake levers are the only parts left of the factory build.
* Mercury wheelset
* Microshift 10spd cassette and friction shifters
* Deore derailleurs
* Fsa exo BB and 2x crankset
* Velo orange riser stem
* Rivendell bosco bars
* Hurdy gurdys
Note that the bike does not come with the brooks saddle or panniers. Thank you all so much would appreciate insight you would have.

It’s a big bike.. but if it fits, $750 doesn’t seem outrageous.

without the saddle its 600 ….surly is nice but 750 is too much you can find a bike with these parts brand new for 750 without a brooks

Chainrings are wasted and clocked incorrectly (installed by a youtube mechanic who doesn’t know what they are doing). Front derailleur is way too high. Rear derailleur is the 1x variant, not for 2x, and the chain is too long. This bike was built by a hack.
